Airfare to Hawaii is going up unfortunately due to ATA and Aloha Airlines closing. I know the cruise your friend booked. I was interested in it myself years ago. NCL has one for $699pp and up. Check out this site. I hope it helps.

Go online to vacations2go dot com (located in Houston, TX). All their cruise travel info displays cruises costing less than going through the cruise line site. In California, try Golden Bear Travel (Novato, CA).
