The best advise I can give you is to buy your tickets as early as possible. The closer it gets to the date you go the higher the tickets will be. Have you checked all of the online travel sites? You could try priceline.com. Another thing is if you can fly out of a large city then it’s usually cheaper. Even if you have to drive a couple of hours or so to get there, you could save a few hundred dollars.

Since Aloha Airlines and ATA Airlines both went out of business a few months ago, there are fewer flights to HI from the mainland than there used to be. Consequently prices have gone up. Not to mention that jet fuel costs nearly double what it did a year ago.

I would advise to be flexible about where you are leaving from, going to, and/or when you are going. Tues-Thurs will likely be cheaper than other days of the week. Most people want to go when school is out, so you will save money if you go when school is in session.
