International Middle Schools – Get a head start

The United States is home to some of the best colleges and universities anywhere. Students from around the world work hard in their early academic careers to prepare for admission to schools in the US. A good number of techniques may be involved, but this article is going to introduce some of the advantages of attending an International Middle School in the US.

Together with high gpa’s, university admissions departments also look at something they call demonstrated interest. This is not the kind of interest that says, “I want to go to your university simply because I’ve heard it is widely recognized.” It doesn’t say, “I want YOU to grant ME admission to your college because I barely satisfy your prerequisites.” What it does say is, “Your College is definitely the only match for me on the grounds that, I share your central philosophy and would like to contribute so and so.” It says, I have examined the works to do with Professor Henderson, and I wish to work with him and his team to further develop the hypothesis connected with so and so.” It displays an intimate knowledge of the school and precisely why you intend to attend.

This demonstrated interest is communicated via your essay, and such an essay cannot simply be thrown together during your senior year of high school.

Attending an International Middle School in the United States affords the opportunity to visit universities and learn about them first hand. You will learn from your teachers the way to start scheduling your secondary school years meaning you can focus on a small number of leading universities. This is a better time to discover that you might dislike some particular reality of a school, or that as superb as its reputation is, you just do not like the size or atmosphere or town, or so on.

College admissions have become so competitive that even the California State University system turned away over 10,000 qualified applicants in the fall of 2009. Do not wait until it’s too late. Find a school that can issue an i-20 visa and bring you here to study before you get to high school–even if it is just for a semester or two.
